Most businesses already have the data they need. It is just spread across SaaS tools, databases, spreadsheets and third-party APIs, in different shapes, updated at different times, and trusted by nobody. Midnight Bytes is a data engineering consultancy that turns that into something dependable: pipelines that run on schedule, a warehouse with one version of the truth, and reporting people actually use.
What we build
Data pipelines
We build extract, transform and load (ETL and ELT) pipelines that pull data from your applications, marketing and social platforms, payment systems and partner APIs, clean it, and load it where it needs to go. Pipelines are scheduled, monitored, and built to recover from the failures every external API eventually has: rate limits, outages, schema changes and missing days.
Data warehouses and databases
We design warehouses and operational databases with schemas that reflect how the business works, so questions are easy to ask and answers are consistent. That includes modelling, indexing and query performance, and keeping historical data so trends can be compared over time.
Analytics and dashboards
Data only matters if people use it. We build dashboards and reports on top of the warehouse, with metrics defined once and shared everywhere, so the numbers in the board deck match the numbers in the weekly meeting.
Data for AI
AI features are only as good as the data behind them. We prepare and connect your data for retrieval, search and model-driven features, working alongside our AI and LLM integration practice.
Reliable by design
- Idempotent loads — re-running a job doesn't create duplicates.
- Monitoring and alerts — you hear about a broken feed before it shows up in a report.
- Documentation — every source, transformation and metric written down so the system outlives the project.
- Security — credentials kept out of code, access limited to the people and systems that need it.
Signs you need data engineering
- Reports are built by hand in spreadsheets, and every month someone copies and pastes the numbers again.
- Two teams quote different figures for the same metric and nobody knows which is right.
- Reporting queries run against the production database and slow down the application.
- You want to add AI features but your data is scattered, duplicated or out of date.
- A platform you rely on changed its API and a dashboard quietly stopped updating.
How we work
We start by mapping the questions the business wants answered and the sources that hold the answers, then deliver in small, usable increments: one reliable pipeline and one useful dashboard first, then the next. Pipelines run on infrastructure we can design and operate with you through our cloud and DevOps service, and post-launch support and maintenance are available.
